Very Rare 19th Century advertising
Capt Frederick Grote started the company at 78 Fulton in 1847 but moved the firm to E 14th St in 1872, dating this graphic to sometime between 1847 and 1872. The stone itself shows a plate for a blank check with a pre-filled date of 186_ narrowing it down to that decade.
The company was most well known for hand turning Grote Billiard Balls in NYC
